Description
Nos 21 to 25 on Park Street is the west part of a mid-Victorian Gothic terrace, located to the west of St John's Church. The building has three storeys, plus attics and basements. It is constructed of red brick and features patterned window and door heads, yellow brick stringcourses, and ashlar sillbands. The slate roof includes some original half-hipped dormers with paired lancets, and the eaves are moulded with brackets.
The windows are pointed, with 1 and 2-light designs; those on the first floor have strainer arches, punched detail, and nook shafts. The ground floor features canted bays, with most windows being sashes, while the second floor has casements without glazing bars. Each doorway is topped with a pointed ashlar arch, supported by marble shafts and foliated capitals. The wooden doors have metal strapwork hinges and are accessed by steps. This building is part of a group that includes the Corner House Hotel and St John's Church, along with other listed buildings on Park Street, except for St Paul's House.
