Description
Baker's Farmhouse is a farmhouse that dates from the 16th, 17th, and 19th centuries. It is built of coursed and squared rubble with some ashlar, and features a double-Roman tiled roof with coped verges and brick stacks, one of which is located at the center of the frontage on a projecting chimney-breast with offsets. The building has two storeys and is arranged in a 2:2 bay configuration. On the ground floor, there are a 3-light and a 4-light moulded stone-mullioned window with stopped labels, along with a 3-light reproduction stone-mullioned window from the 20th century. The first floor has two 3-light casements from the 19th century and a 2-light casement from the 20th century. The door is situated to the right of the projecting chimney-breast and features a wood architrave, a plank door, and iron strap hinges. Inside, there are notable features such as two stud and panel partitions on the ground floor, ceiling beams with curved stops, and an 18th-century roof that incorporates re-used smoke-blackened material from a former open-hall house.
