Description
East Lambrook Manor is a manor house that dates from the 15th, 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries. It is constructed from coursed and squared rubble and brick, with double-Roman and plain tiled roofs, coped verges, and ashlar and rendered sticks. The building originally had an open hall but was later floored and features a lateral wing. It stands two storeys high and has a road frontage with a layout of 1:1:3 bays. The left side has a projecting single-bayed wing, and the windows are wooden and stone-mullioned with labels on the ground floor, iron casements, square-paned leaded lights, and iron quadrants. In the centre of the right section, there is a tall stack on a projecting chimney-breast with offsets. To the right of this is a door opening with a moulded surround, featuring a plank door with iron strap hinges. The east gable face has a 15th-century two-light mullioned and transomed window with cusping, iron stanchion, and saddle bars. The forecourt wall is made of rubble and includes a gateway with ashlar piers topped with humped caps and a plank gate. The interior contains features of interest, including jointed crucks and some evidence of a former open hall.
