Description

Woodfordes is a house dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is built with roughcast over rubble, featuring rusticated quoin strips, and has slate roofs with brick stacks at the left and right gable ends, including one on a recessed service wing to the west. The house’s layout consists of a parallel range with a service wing set back. The main block contains two bays, while the service wing has a single bay over two storeys. Window openings have moulded surrounds and contain 12-pane sash windows. The entrance is located in the left bay of the main block, and it is fronted by a flat-roofed, glazed porch likely from the early 20th century. A 16-pane sash window is present in the outshot of the service wing. The house forms part of a noteworthy group of buildings in the centre of the village.
