Description
The Wesleyan Chapel is an early 19th-century building featuring an ashlar stone frontage with rendered returns and a slate roof that has a ridge oriented at right angles to the front. The chapel has a symmetrical two-storey facade with two bays. The first-floor sash windows have glazing bars and semi-circular heads, while the ground-floor windows have cambered heads. A painted tablet is located on the gable face. The central door opening is framed by paired panelled doors and a Roman-Doric stone portico supported by two pilasters and two columns, complete with a frieze, cornice, and blocking course. The chapel is set behind an ornamental railed forecourt, which has ashlar piers on either side. Some 19th-century fittings are also present.
