Description
This dovecote, located about 15 metres south of the stable block at Brympton House, is likely from the early 20th century. It is constructed from ham stone and features a cedarwood crown. The base consists of three circular stone steps leading up to a chamfered square block that supports a Doric column topped with a slab. Above this is a hexagonal wooden structure with a hipped roof and a knob finial. Each face of the dovecote has two semi-circular arched bird holes, one positioned above the other, with the upper hole being a slightly modified version of the original design shown in the book "Garden Ornament" by Gertrude Jekyll and Christopher Hussey, published in London in 1927.
