Description
Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the early 18th century, built on the site of an earlier dwelling. It was reroofed and altered internally in the early 19th century and had its windows changed in the 20th century. The building is constructed of squared and coursed blue lias stone, with the upper courses below the eaves renewed. It features a rubble plinth, a string course, and a thatched roof that is hipped to the left, with a coped verge on the right. There is a roughcast stack on the right gable end, along with brick stacks at the rear wing and a lateral brick stack rising at the back and to an addition. The farmhouse has an L-plan layout with three cells and a cross passage, including a stair that was inserted later. There is a kitchen wing with a single-storey washhouse and bakery addition, as well as an outshot at the rear. The building is two storeys high with four bays, and it features 3-light leaded metal casements, a 2-light window in the second bay on the left above a six-panel door, and a flat-roofed porch. The left return has two bays. Inside, there is an early 19th-century stick stair.
