Description
Gunville is a gamekeeper's cottage dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed from coursed and squared rubble with a 20th-century tile roof and end brick stacks that are moulded around their caps. The building has a symmetrical frontage, is two storeys high, and features three bays with 2-light bead-moulded stone-mullioned windows. The central door opening is framed by a similarly moulded stone surround and has a stone slab hood supported by moulded stone brackets, with a 20th-century half-glazed door. There are single-storey outshuts of one bay on each side, with ridges at right angles to the main frontage, each featuring a Dutch gable and a 2-light bead-moulded stone-mullioned window. Gunville is part of the Longleat Estate.
