Description

Foxhollow Lantern Cottage is a house, now divided into two, that dates back to 1696. It features a rendered exterior, a double Roman concrete tile roof, and brick end stacks. The building has a rectangular shape with a symmetrical facade, consisting of two storeys and four bays. It includes two-light ovolo moulded stone mullioned windows, with continuous moulded strings above the heads on each floor. The central door opening has a moulded surround and a four-centred depressed arch head, which is topped by a triangular pediment on brackets. The date 1696 is inscribed in cut stone letters on the pediment. The door itself is a 20th-century panelled and glazed design. At the rear, there is a 20th-century flat-roofed extension that spans two bays.
