Description

Bittlescombe Lodge is a circa 1840 lodge built for Bittlescombe Manor (which is not listed separately). Minor additions were made in the mid-20th century. The lodge is built with a roughcast finish over rubble, and has a slate roof with boxed eaves. A roughcast stack is located at the right gable, and another was added in the 20th century. The building is in a T-plan shape with a cross gable end facing the driveway, and a porch set into the left angle. A 20th-century addition is located at the left gable end. It is a single-storey building with windows with astragal glazing bars. There is a square-headed lancet window to the left, a three-light casement window in the cross gable end, and a cruciform window to the right. The porch has part-glazed windows and a four-panel door. A single-storey 20th-century addition is present but it is not of particular architectural interest.
