Description
The Red Cross Centre, originally an estate office, dates from around 1900 and is built from uncoursed Doulting stone with a slate hipped roof. It features a moulded eaves cornice and a brick stack on the left side, showcasing a Georgian revival style. The building is single storey with four bays of flush mounted sash windows that include glazing bars.
The central doorway is framed by a broad moulded architrave and includes a two-panelled door with a fanlight above, also featuring glazing bars. Panelled pilasters flank the doorway, and elaborately carved brackets support an open semi-circular pediment. This pediment displays a carved wooden panel featuring raised Prince of Wales feathers and the inscription "Ich Dien" at its center. Additionally, there are decorated cast iron rainwater heads on either side, again featuring the Prince of Wales feathers and the same inscription. To the right, there is a four-window return.
