Description
Netherclay House is a house dating from the late 18th century. It is rendered over rubble and features a plinth, a hipped slate roof, and coped verges on the gables at the rear. The building has a moulded cornice and pilaster strips, although the capitals have been removed. There are brick stacks present. The house has a double pile layout with rear wings that form a U-shape. It stands two storeys high with an attic and has a symmetrical façade with two bays, one bay, and two bays; there are three segmental-headed dormers in the roof, each containing 4-pane sash windows. The first floor has 12-pane sash windows, while the ground floor features a central window with 16 panes and central half-glazed double doors with diamond glazing bars and a diamond panel top light. A single-storey flat-roofed Ham stone porch with chamfered corners and a moulded cornice is supported by paired Doric columns on tall pedestals and has paired pilasters on the façade. The right return has six bays. The interior has not been seen.
