Description
The Post Office in Norton St. Philip is an 18th-century house constructed from ashlar Doulting stone. It features a cornice and a coped parapet, topped with a Welsh slate gabled roof that has copings and ashlar end chimney stacks. The building is two stories high and has a three-window front with a central entrance. The entrance includes a four-panel bolection moulded door with a semi-circular fanlight, all set within a keyed arch surround. The windows are sash style with glazing bars, and there is a semi-circular head above the window located over the door. The flank walls are made of ashlar stone, approximately 1 meter high, with coped tops and corner piers that rise to 1.2 meters, featuring cross gabled caps. The front boundary is marked by single spearhead iron railings on a chamfered plinth, along with a matching iron gate.
