Description
Rowley Grange is a barn that has been converted into a country house. It dates back to the 17th century and was transformed for its current use around 1920. The building features coursed rubble Doulting stone and has a stone slate gabled roof with copings and finials. It is a single-storey structure, now with a first floor, arranged in a 'T' plan. The central gabled cart entrance porch has a heavy wooden lintel at eaves level over a doorway that has been built in with rubble stone. This doorway is pierced by a 4-centred stone arch and framed with a vertical boarded and hipped door. There are pigeon holes with perches in the gable face and an oval window above. The inserted windows are 2- and 3-light stone mullioned casements with leaded lights. There is a large extension to the rear, built around 1920, which is not included in the listing.
