Wellhead. Late Medieval. Red sandstone coursed rubble, about one metre high, 2 large slabs set at an angle to form pointed arch well opening, slab on left hand side projecting out. Small square recess left, thought to be for water container. Overhung with ivy at time of survey (December 1983). This was believed to be a healing well in the Middle Ages, lying close by the Chapel of St Pancras (qv). (Photograph in NMR; VCH Somerset, vol 5, forthcoming).
