Description
Manor Lodge is a detached house with origins dating back to the 17th century or earlier, featuring significant alterations and extensions from the 20th century. It is constructed of ham stone coursed rubble with ashlar dressings, topped with double Roman and plain clay tiled roofs, and has a coped south gable. The building has an 'L' plan and three parallel-ridge roofs, with the east wing being of particular interest. This single-storey section has an attic and a three-bay west elevation. The first two bays contain reserved chamfer mullioned windows with three lights, which share a label, and are positioned above a cambered-arched doorway located between them. The third bay features a possibly 19th-century doorway with a pointed segmental arch leading to a wide pair of boarded doors. Additionally, there is a pointed arched doorway with a label over in the south gable, which may also date to the 19th century. The interior has not been seen. Manor Lodge is part of an important complex centered around King Ina's Palace, the Manor House.
