Description

This is a row of three cottages located on Broadmead Lane in Norton sub Hamdon. The cottages date back to the 18th century and have been modified since their original construction. They are built of ham stone rubble with ashlar dressings, and have a Welsh slate roof with a steep pitch, featuring stepped coped gables. The property has rendered brick chimney stacks. The row has two storeys and three bays. The windows are hollow chamfered mullioned, set in chamfered recesses without labels, and are all two-light. The doorways are plain, with timber lintels; the door to number 11 is part-glazed, while the others are boarded. The interiors are not documented. It is believed the cottages were originally flax sheds.
