Description
The walls enclosing the churchyard of St Mary's Church, along with the gatepiers, gates, and steps on the east front, were built around 1860. The walls are made of random rubble from local stone and feature various moulded coping. The gatepiers are constructed from Ham stone and were obscured by ivy at the time of the survey in November 1985. They have moulded coping that leads to a low retaining wall of steps, which ends in a pier with cross gable coping. There is a double wrought iron gate that connects the churchyard to the vicarage grounds, now known as Buckland House.
