Description

Duffield Cottage is an early 18th-century cottage with substantial alterations made in the 20th century. The exterior is roughcast with a pantile roof and brick ridge stacks. The cottage has two storeys and two bays, featuring two-light casement windows with glazing bars. A glazed door is located to the left, set within a glazed porch. A single-storey addition, matching the style, extends to the right. The addition has a hipped roof to its right-hand side. The interior includes an exposed A-frame roof and an inglenook fireplace on the ground floor. From 1797 to 1839, the cottage served as the village Poor House.
