Description
Nos 26 to 29 on Park Street is the east part of a mid-Victorian Gothic terrace located just west of St John's Church. The building has two storeys plus attics and basements, constructed of red brick with patterned window and door heads, and yellow brick stringcourses. It features slate roofs with four gables and finials. The gables have lancet windows flanked by plain openings, and pointed strainer arches on nook shafts above the first-floor openings. The ground floor includes canted bays with Gothic tracery in the lights. Most windows are sashes, with some triple lights that do not have glazing bars. The entrances are situated to the left and right, with paired entrances in the centre, all featuring pointed heads under pierced parapets, and the doorways are accessed by steps. This building is part of a group that includes the Corner House Hotel and St John's Church. All the listed buildings on Park Street, except St Paul's House, form a group with Nos 2 to 18 (even) on Wellington Road.
