Description
The Candy chest tomb, located 5 metres east of the east wall of the chancel of the Church of St Mary, dates from the 17th century and has been restored. It is constructed from Doulting ashlar and features a moulded plinth that supports plain slab sides, each with a recessed plaque. The tomb is topped with a moulded cornice that supports a hipped top. It commemorates Thomas Candy, who died in 1681.
