Description

This is a house dating from the 16th and 17th centuries, originally composed of two rooms with a later wing forming an L-shaped plan. The exterior is colourwashed pebbledash, with a double Roman tile roof, a rendered stack on the left, a truncated ashlar stack in the centre, and a projecting brick stack on a rubble base to the right. The front elevation has a 1:2 bay arrangement, with the left-hand section set slightly forward and featuring a front-facing gable. This section contains a three-light mullioned window on the ground floor with a chamfered stone mullion and a stopped label. A blocked window opening above it also has a stopped label. The inner face of the wing has 20th-century casements. The remainder of the windows are 19th-century top-hung casements with glazing bars, except for a 20th-century metal casement on the ground floor to the right. A plank door with a glazed panel is set into an opening on the left, sheltered by a slated pentice. A forecourt wall is constructed of upright lias flags. Inside, there is a moulded cross-beamed ceiling, a stud and panel partition, and other smaller features.
