Description
The Withy boiler at Lovell's Farm, dated 1906, is a notable structure made of red brick, with its top renewed in concrete. The boiler features a chimney positioned squarely at the east end and a rectangular brick casing that houses a metal container for the boiler. The top has three square metal covers with handles. At the west end, the center is excavated below a segmental headed opening that leads to the stoke hole, which is flanked by two square iron doors. The left-hand door bears the name of Gibley and Son. The chimney, painted brick and inscribed with "JE 1906," is supported by steel wire. The Withy boiler was still in use at the time of the survey in August 1985.
