Description

The Old Grammar School House, now a rectory, dates from around 1600. It is constructed of Doulting Limestone rubble with squared quoins and features painted freestone details, brick stacks, plain tiles, and coped verges. The building is two stories high and has seven bays, with two- and three-light stone mullioned casements that have semi-circular sub-arches under square heads. The central door opening has a vestigially pointed head and a chamfered stone surround. There are traces of previous openings in the facade, including evidence of relieving arches. The property also includes a vaulted cellar.
