Description

This is a house with an attached barn and forecourt wall, dating from the 17th century with alterations in the 18th century. The house has roughcast render, brick and rendered stacks, and a triple Roman tile roof. The irregular front has 4 bays. The upper floor has 3-light casement windows with horizontal glazing bars. The ground floor has similar casement windows in the third bay and elsewhere, along with a 20th-century metal casement to the left. A 6-panelled door, with the top two panels glazed, sits between the second and third bays, sheltered by a wooden trellis porch with a flat lead roof. An early 19th-century shop front is located between the third and fourth bays, featuring a shallow segmental bow window with shutters, paired doors with shutters to the left, a narrow reeded surround with bullseye details, and a flat lead roof. To the right of the house is a two-storey rubble barn with coped verges and a pantile roof, a divided plank door with strap hinges on the first floor, and a projecting roof. A low rubble forecourt wall with a dressed stone capping runs along the front, with ramped ends.
