Description

The boundary walls between Cedars Cottage and De Salis House and Cottage are likely from the 18th century, with some earlier materials possibly included. Constructed from rubble with some concrete copings, these walls partly enclose out-buildings associated with the Cathedral School premises. Starting from the left, a wall approximately 2.5 meters high connects to the quadrant of Cedars Cottage and extends to the right, rising to about 3 meters at the eaves of a hipped end outbuilding. It then drops back to around 2.5 meters at the eaves of another outbuilding near the entrance to De Salis House and Cottage, known as The Liberty. There is an opening with a pair of iron gates situated between the two sections of the wall. The total length of the wall, including the opening, is about 50 meters. These walls are an important feature along the street, located directly opposite the eastern end of The Cedars, and they play a significant role in maintaining the continuity between the properties at either end.
