Description
The Rectory is a building from the early 19th century that incorporates parts of an earlier dwelling. It is constructed from red sandstone random rubble masonry and features a moulded plinth. The hipped slate roof has overhanging eaves, a soffit board, and a plaster cornice strip. The building has two storeys and a basement, with a symmetrical arrangement of one, two, and one bays. The windows are sashes with glazing bars and rusticated surrounds. On the ground floor, there is a splayed bay window, and to the right, there are three rounded-headed tracery windows in the basement. The gabled dormers also have glazing bars.
The right side of the building serves as the entrance front, which has two storeys and three bays. The windows here are again sashes with glazing bars, and the entrance is located to the right. It features a pedimented doorcase with fluted pilasters and decorative carbuncles in the frieze, leading to a six-panel door. There is an attached wing that is part of the earlier dwelling, which includes an early 19th-century staircase window with four by thirteen panes and very thick wooden glazing bars.
