Description
The Buchanan and Innes chest tomb is located in the churchyard about 1 metre south of the south chapel of the Church of St Michael. This chest tomb dates from the early 19th century and is made of Portland stone. It features a ledger top, a moulded cornice, and fluted pilasters at the corners. The east and west ends are blank, while the north side is inscribed to George Innes, MD, who died in 1828, and the south side is inscribed to Robertson Buchanan, who died in 1816. The tomb has a moulded plinth and retains parts of the plinth for railings. The top is damaged in the southeast corner.
