Description

Rylands Cottage is a late 18th-century cottage constructed of ashlar with a slate roof featuring coped verges and rendered end stacks. The ground floor has a rusticated finish, corner pilasters, and a moulded eaves cornice. There is a decorative band at the first floor level adorned with paterae. The cottage is two storeys high and has three bays, with triple light windows that have casements and paterae above each window on the first floor; the central window on this level is blank. The central door opening is framed by a stone surround with an emphasised keystone and a triangular pediment, leading to a four-panelled door with the top two panels glazed. There is also a pent roofed outshut on the right return.
