Description
The Churchyard Cross and Balustraded Steps and Terrace, located on the east side of Bath Street, dates from before 1887 and serves as a memorial to Reverend W. J. E. Bennett, who rebuilt the church. The site is accessed from the south porch, where cast iron gates lead to steps featuring extended landings. The balustrade is designed in the Perpendicular style and is adorned with angel finials. Surrounding the base of the cross is an octagonal area with mosaics. The cross itself has steps leading to the base of its tall shaft, and the steps are inscribed with raised lettering. Additional steps ascend further to the south.
