Description

The Watson monument is an altar tomb located in the churchyard about 2 meters north of the chancel of the Church of the Holy Trinity. This monument dates from the early 19th century and is made of Doulting stone. It is designed in a Soanian style, featuring a moulded base on a step and a cuboid main section with fluted corner pilasters. The structure has a cornice that leads to a four-gabled top adorned with corner anthemion, a step, and an urn finial. The monument commemorates Richard Watson, who died in 1822, along with other family members.
