Description

The Baker Monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard of the Church of the Holy Trinity in South Cadbury, approximately 8 meters east of the chancel. It dates from the mid-18th century and is made of lias stone with white marble insert slabs. The monument features a hollow chamfered plinth, plain panelled ends, and two-panelled flanks. It has a plain frieze and a moulded undercoving leading to a shallow hipped top with buttressed leading edges. The monument commemorates Robert Baker, who was a churchwarden and died in 1751, along with other members of his family.
