Description

Little Weston House is a detached house dated 1714, with modifications from the 18th century and an extension in the 19th century. It is constructed of roughly cut and squared local lias stone, with some rendered stone and ashlar lining on the front elevation. The roof is of double Roman clay tiles between stepped coped gables, with brick and stone chimney stacks.

The house has two storeys and three bays, with nine-pane sash windows in plain openings. The upper bay is blank. A six-panelled door is set within a cast iron and timber lattice porch with a hipped sheet metal roof, located in the lower bay of the front. The plaque between the upper bays 1 and 2 reads "SP/RP/1714" and is surrounded by incised scrollwork.

According to local tradition, the easterly bedroom, which has a taller ceiling and signs of a former external doorway, was once used as a Quaker meeting house. The interior was not inspected during listing.
