Description
Greenway House is a pair of dwellings that have been combined into one. It dates from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. The building is constructed of red sandstone random rubble with Ham stone dressings, and features a red brick left return elevation and outshut. The slate roofs have projecting verges and brick stacks. The house is one and a half storeys tall and includes a two-storey crenellated staircase tower with centrally placed lancet windows. There are two 2-light casements with hoodmoulds and gables above, breaking through the eaves, both flanked by full-height gabled projections that break forward and contain cruciform windows under hood moulds on the ground floor only. The left side of the staircase tower features a four-centred arch doorway. Greenway House is similar in style to Ballifants and is part of the Sandhill Park Estate.
