Description
Nos 2 to 9, Albion Road form a significant part of a stucco-fronted terrace built around 1840 to 1850. The terrace is characterized by its full-height segmental bows, with three windows on each of the three upper floors and one window to the right of the entrance. The ground floor features rusticated detailing. A continuous sill course, frieze, projecting moulded cornice, blocking course, and panelled parapet run the length of the terrace. The windows are recessed sash windows with intact glazing bars and panelled aprons on the second floor of the bows. Iron balconies are present on the first floor, with a particularly notable one spanning across two windows above the entrance on Nos 5 and 6. French casements are found on the first floor. The recessed entrance doors consist of four moulded panels and rectangular fanlights, with plain raised surrounds. Splayed, spear-headed railings define the areas and steps leading to the entrances. The buildings are listed for their contribution to group value.
