Description

Nos 26 and 28 Cheapside are a pair of shops built in the early 19th century. They have a rendered exterior and a Westmorland slate roof. The buildings stand three storeys high and feature two first-floor windows. The smooth cement quoins and bands at the first and second floor levels are likely applied rather than structural. There are two steps leading up to the paired glazed shop doors, which have overlights above them, and these are flanked by 19th-century shop windows that have wooden casings and cornices. The first and second floors have four-pane sash windows set in flush wood architraves. The buildings have end stacks and are included for their group value.
