Description
No. 30 Cheapside is a house built in the late 18th to early 19th century. It is constructed of brick in Flemish bond and has a Westmorland slate roof. The building stands three storeys high and has one bay. To the right, there are three steps leading to a six-panel door, which features a three-pane rectangular overlight set beneath a segmental arch. There is a cellar opening to the left of the door. To the left, there is a 16-pane bow window with bowed brickwork below it. The first floor has a 16-pane sash window, while the second floor has a 12-pane unequally-hung sash window. Both of these windows have flush wood architraves, shallow projecting sills, and segmental header arches. A ridge stack is located to the left of the house. This property is part of a corner block that includes nos 2A, 2, and 4 Castlegate.
