Description
Numbers 14, 15, 16, and 17 The Fold is a row of houses built in the late 18th century and 19th century. They are constructed from rubble with a stone slate roof and feature five chimneys. The 17th century details are primarily visible on Nos 15 and 16, while Nos 14 and 17 may also date from that period, as indicated by their gables, which are coped with kneelers. The buildings are two storeys high. No 14 has windows with flush square mullions, including one three-light window on the ground floor and two two-light windows above. Nos 14 and 15 have chamfered doorways set in a broad, gabled single-storey rubble porch. Nos 15 and 16 each feature a four-light double chamfered stone mullion window with a hoodmould on the ground floor, and a three-light similar window without a hoodmould above. No 16 has a later doorway. No 17 has plain stone surrounds to its windows, which have lost their mullions on either side of a recent porch. The interior has not been inspected.
