Description
Numbers 8 and 10 in Park Square, Great Ayton, are a row of four cottages that have been converted into two dwellings. They date from the late 18th century or early 19th century and are constructed from coursed squared tooled sandstone. The building features a pantiled roof with stone trim and brick chimney stacks. It stands two storeys high and has four bays with wide proportions. The doors are from the 20th century, while the sash windows, which have glazing bars in wooden box frames, include two 20th-century ground floor windows in their original openings. The roof is swept, with stone copings and moulded kneelers, and there are chimneys at the center and ends of the building.
