Description

A pair of houses dating from the mid-to-late 18th century, located on the east side of Cheapside in Knaresborough. The houses are constructed of coursed squared limestone with a stone slate roof. They are two storeys high, with four first-floor windows and two blind windows. Two steps lead up to a central pair of 4-pane doors, which were replaced in the 20th century. Flanking the doors are 24-pane bow windows, and below are cellar openings. The first floor features paired blind windows in the centre, flanked by 16-pane sash windows in flush wood architraves. Projecting sills and shouldered lintels are present throughout. A dormer window on the left side may date from the 19th century. The end stacks are brick on the left and rendered on the right.
