Description
Scruton House is an early 19th-century house constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, topped with a graduated stone slate roof. The building stands two storeys tall with a symmetrical three-bay front, and features a lower one-storey, one-bay wing to the right. The main block has a central six-panel door that is sheltered by a stone Doric porch. All windows are sash types with glazing bars, flat brick arches, and stone sills. The house has end stacks and a hipped roof. At the rear, there is an arched stair window with Gothick glazing bars. The right wing contains a sash window with glazing bars above a dormer featuring a six-pane sash, and its roof is also hipped to the right.
