Description

The Lodge is a house dating from the late 18th and early 19th centuries. It is built of roughcast brick with a Welsh slate roof. The house has a double-depth plan, arranged over two storeys with a four-bay main block and flanking lean-to pavilions. The main entrance is in the second bay, featuring a six-panel door within a doorcase that has a fluted frieze, paterae, and a cornice. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars. The building has cogged eaves, shaped kneelers, and ashlar copings. Brick end stacks are also visible. The left-hand lean-to has a single bay with four-pane sash windows; the upper window cuts into a string course that, along with the coping, forms a half-pediment. The right-hand lean-to is constructed of rubble and is not roughcast, also featuring a matching half-pediment.
