Description

The Turks Head Public House dates from the 18th century and was altered in the mid-19th century. It is built of colour-washed brick with a pantiled roof and tall brick stacks. The building is two storeys high and features a 19th-century wooden eaves cornice with brackets. The front has three bays with sash windows in moulded stucco surrounds; the ground floor sashes are ornamented with nailhead decoration. The ground floor is unusually ornamented with pilasters and a moulded cornice that rises over the door and is surmounted by ball finials, decorated with chevrons, roundels, and nailhead ornament. The door consists of four moulded panels and a segment-headed fanlight.
