Description

Barnby House Barns are three barns built in the late 19th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. They are constructed of brick in Flemish bond and feature roofs made of Welsh slate and asbestos. The barns are open and have a façade facing the road that includes a gable end with a tall round-headed cart entrance. The roof is supported by brick piers. These barns are considered an important feature in the landscape, as noted by Pevsner in "Yorkshire: The North Riding," published in 1966.
