Description

Campion Bank House, originally the banking house of Robert and Margaret Campion, was founded in 1800. It is a two-storey building made of brick with a stone basement. The roof is covered with renewed pantiles, and the dormers have also been renewed. There are two chimneys located at the gable ends, and the eaves cornice has been replaced. The building features four windows with flat stone arches, which have replaced double-hung sashes that included glazing bars. A band continues along the cills. The passage door is set within a plain pilastered architrave, featuring a blank ornamental fanlight and a moulded head with a triple keystone. Campion Bank House is part of a group with Nos 44 to 51 and Seaman's Hospital.
