Description

Town End Farmhouse is an early 19th-century house located on the west side of Town End in North Cowton. The house is constructed of brick in English bond, with a 20th-century pantile roof. It is two storeys high and has three bays. The openings have flat arches. The central entrance features a part-glazed 20th-century door with an overlight, flanked by four-pane sash windows with projecting stone sills. A dogtooth cornice runs along the roofline. The house has shaped kneelers and an ashlar coping. Brick end stacks are also present. This property holds group value as a well-preserved example of a rural farmhouse.
