Description

Park Dene Park Lodge is an early 19th-century building, originally comprising Park Lodge (Nos 1 to 6) and Park Dene (formerly listed as Park Lodge, Crescent Gardens). The building is constructed of ashlar stone with wide, flat eaves supported by cut brackets, and has a Mansard slate roof. The road front, facing Vernon Road, has four bays and a two-story arrangement, with the ground-floor windows set within an architrave frieze and cornice. Originally, four dormers punctuated the roof, but the two on the right have been altered into a single large window. The North front features three bays, incorporating a four-panel central door and a two-light fanlight within a Greek Doric porch. A recessed sash window arrangement and a panelled door are present on the 19th-century extension that is set back on the South front and now known as Park Dene. The building was likely constructed around the time the Crescent was developed.
