Description
2 Finkle Street is a former Barclays Bank building dating from the mid-19th century. It is constructed of pink brick and features a hipped slate roof. The building stands three storeys tall and has a modillioned wooden eaves cornice. The ground floor is horizontally channelled ashlar with a moulded cornice. The façade facing the Market Place has three bays, including one canted corner bay, while the Finkle Street side has five bays. The windows are sash style, with segment-headed designs on the first floor. The corner bay windows have moulded stucco frames, with the first-floor window featuring a keystone, moulded pilasters, and gadrooned consoles beneath a plain cornice.
