Description
Number 15 on Market Place in Ripon is a building that dates back to the 17th century or earlier. It features a timber-framed structure, with one post that arches to support the front bressummer, which can be seen in the passage leading to Greaves Court. The current front of the building was updated in the mid-19th century and is finished in stucco with a slate roof. The building stands three storeys tall and has a deep cornice with modillions and dentils at the eaves. There is a band at the first floor level and the facade consists of one bay with wooden angle pilasters. The ground floor was extended in the late 19th century, projecting beyond the original front. The first floor has a canted wooden bay with glazing bars, featuring small Composite capitals, arched windows, and a full entablature. The second floor has a cased sash window.
