Description

Nos 8 and 9 in Market Place, Ripon, are early 18th-century buildings constructed of stucco with a slate roof. They rise three storeys high and feature a projecting moulded and modillioned wooden cornice at the eaves. The second floor has a continuous sill, and the facade is divided into three bays. The windows are late 18th-century or 19th-century sashes with glazing bars, set in rusticated raised surrounds that are linked vertically. The ground floor has been altered for modern shops, and there is a passage on the south side.
